The soul of the performance
Assured and powerful, Spendor Classic loudspeakers take you to the very heart of the performance. Their warmth and richness, combined with their clarity and transparency, brings out all the colours and textures in your music, creating a uniquely immersive and comforting soundscape. They’ll send shivers down your spine, bring back fond memories, and encourage you to rediscover the music you love. Above all, they capture the soul of the recording, bringing a new intimacy and intensity to your listening experience.
Within the below video, Philip Swift (Managing Director) provides an overview of the brand and explains the key differences between the A-Line, D-Line and Classic loudspeakers.
FROM SHELF / STAND MOUNT TO FLOORSTANDING
Perhaps the biggest revelation is the human voice. The speaker’s portrayal of voices is bettered by none and matched by only a few rival speakers, irrespective of price.
With its meticulously refined crossover network, enhanced cabinet structure, new elastomer panel damping and new style magnetic grille the Classic 3/1 delivers music with a captivating warmth and charm which is the hallmark of every Spendor Classic. But when it comes to sound stage, musical coherence, transparency and sound balance it is clearly superior to any of its predecessors. Spendor Classic 3/1 continues to offer the ultimate in pure listening pleasure for serious audiophiles.
There’s a beautiful sense of fluidity to the way these standmounters go from quiet to loud, and it’s coupled with a delicate sense of ease most rivals struggle to approach.
It has the “oldschool” looks: the Spendor Classic 1/2 takes the old virtues from the legendary BBC listening monitors and evolves these characteristics for the current Classic 1/2
Perhaps the 100s biggest strength is that they are easy to listen to for hours without getting tiring. Their ability to reveal and entertain while remaining undemanding is a rare one.
Spendor’s Classic speakers tend to remain in production for decades. Having spent some time with the Classic 200s, it’s easy to understand why.
The Spendor Classic Stand has been created to complement the design methodology of the Spendor Classic loudspeaker cabinets. Supported directly on four high grade solid stainless-steel pillars positioned right in the corners of the base of the cabinet, the loudspeaker remains stable, with the lower panel free to work as intended.
